It has always been our policy from day one that the summer camp should be a time of enjoyment away from the stress of the children’s academic studies and it is probably this policy that has made our Summer Camp the success that it is today.

The great news about this year is that since we are aware of the current economic situation we have decided not to increase the fees.

Each year we try to change as many activities as possible with the scope of keeping the Summer Camp fresh especially for those children who return year in year out.

This year will be no exception and we are looking at introducing new activities that will embrace our motto of fun & enjoyment whilst in the company of their friends, which in turn will also help in the development of your children’s communicational skills. In fact we have decided to include traditional Maltese games such as “Il-Passju”, “Lasktu”, “Iz- Zunzana iddur iddur”, table tennis, board games to develop their mental skills whilst enjoying the activity and the reintroduction of football.

For the last day before the break, we will be having Bouncy Castles, Waterpark, Gladiator Stand followed by some nice treats like pop corn and candy floss.
On the last day there will be our traditional water slide and ice creams!! All children may attend on these two days, even those who do not usually come on a Friday!

We are aware that some parents have expressed their concern on the fact that the children are sometimes exposed to the severe summer heat. Please be assured that we are conscious of this fact and great care is taken when formulating the timetable to minimise the time your children spend in the heat during their outdoor activities. Having said this it is important that your children wear a high factor sunscreen and be given a BIG bottle of water.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The organisation of this summer camp has been an arduous task and we want to put your minds at rest that your children are in capable hands and well taken care of. Safety is a priority and parents should advise us of any ailments that their children might suffer from.

It is important that with each application form you affix a recent photo of the child to assist us in maintaining our records.

It is also important for parents to advise us on their children’s swimming skills.

The summer camp shall run from 9th of July up to the 7th of September, with the usual one week break for the “Santa Maria” holidays between the 13th to the 19th of August. Activities start at 8:30am to 1:15pm, with an option to bring the children along from 7:45am to 2:00pm, at no additional charge. The camp will consist of Tennis, Table Tennis, Bocci, Swimming, Football, Board Games, Gym, Computer (X BOX), traditional Games and other fun activities.

Children must be collected punctually and parents are to advise the administrative office of any dates that their children will not be attending, be it due to illness or for any other reason such as family holidays.

When filling in the application form please list two (2) contact numbers where we may contact you or the responsible guardian should the need arise.

Children between the ages of 5 to 13 years may participate and we are limiting the number of children to 150.

It is also important to note that although this is a summer camp discipline must be observed at all times and any misbehaviour will not be tolerated with the consequence that the child may be suspended or expelled from the summer camp without a refund of the fees paid.

With health and safety a priority it has been decided that the ratio of instructor to children shall remain as in previous years i.e. 1: 10 and 1: 5 for swimming. Remember to provide your children with towels and goggles on the days when swimming lessons are held.

Kids may choose friends they want to be with, however they must fall under the same age group and attend same days. Every effort will be made to accommodate your requests but the Club reserves the right to refuse the request, should this not be possible or considered a health risk.

Sessions will last for 45 minutes with 15 minutes breaks between each and every session in order to allow the children a cool down period.

It is also very important that children come well prepared and therefore it is mandatory for children to wear light clothing, caps/hats, a good pair of tennis shoes with non- marking soles, a strong sun block (recommended 60 factor for face and 30 factor for all other exposed areas) and a good supply of cold water. Children will also be allowed to bring a light lunch, (fruit highly recommended). A face cloth is also recommended.

Although priority will be given to children of members, a limited number of places will be made available to friends of your children whose parents are not members on a first come first served basis.

Although we will make sure that your child is cared for during the Summer Camp, the club cannot be held responsible for any injury and/or illness that might arise during the course of the summer camp.

There will be no transport available.
