Dear Members,

The Club will re-open this Friday 22nd May 2020, and we are delighted to have the Club alive once again. However, we must be extremely cautious and strictly abide with the directives and guidelines issued by the health authorities. We find ourselves living in unprecedented times and our daily routine will definitely not be the same as pre-Covid 19 times.

Our main concern is to safeguard the health of our members and staff. In this respect we kindly ask you to carefully read the regulations established by the Committee of Management.

Prior to explaining the procedures, it is vital to underline the importance that:

a)      If you are not feeling well, to refrain from visiting the Club.

b)      Upon arrival at the gate, you will be requested to stop and allow the gatekeeper to check your temperature. Should you exhibit symptoms or result shows a temperature above normal, you will be asked to leave. 

c)       You will be required to provide your name and surname together with your ID card number. This information is imperative and must be provided to the security on duty at the gate. Such data will only be used in case contact tracing is required, and all data will be treated within the parameters established by the GDPR. Please keep an identification document with you at all times.

d)      It is imperative to have your barrier card to obtain access into the Club, as otherwise you will not be entitled to enter.

 

We kindly ask for your co-operation with the above.  

Noncompliance with the special COVID19 Club rules will result in disciplinary action.

 

Main Club and Club House

  • Anyone visiting the Club must wear a mask/visor at all times whilst on the premises and have their own sanitizer which must be applied when necessary. Masks can only be removed when playing.
  • Hand sanitizers will be supplied around specific points on the grounds; however, members are urged to have their own.
  • Please respect the 2-meter social distance in all areas including the car park.
  • Kindly limit your visit to the sport activity you will be practicing and avoid lingering on the Club grounds and in the car park.
  • The playground areas and swings are out of bounds; social members may utilize the cricket pitch as long as they keep the required social distancing and are not more than 6 people at a time, if not from the same household.
  • Shower/changing room facilities will not be available.
  • Toilets are situated in the following areas: Near tennis court Nr. 1 – in the squash courts  - near the clay courts and near the country courts..
  • The outside restaurant will be available.
  • Guests are not allowed until further notice.
  • Only paid up members will be allowed entry.
  • No cash transactions will be accepted.
  • Queries with administration is restricted to phone calls (21233851) and emails (admin@marsasportsclub.com). The office will not be open for members.

Swimming Pool – The pool is currently closed; we will let you know in due course when it will re-open.

  • The maximum number of patrons that will be allowed to use the swimming pool will be in accordance with the guidelines issued by the health authorities.
  • The pool’s opening hours will be from 10am to 6pm from Monday to Sunday.
  • Use of the pool will be on a first come first served basis.
  • In view of the current situation, guests will STRICLY not be allowed entry to the Club. This policy also includes the husbands/wives/partners of members. This as being done in view of the restriction on the number of patrons utilising the pool. Therefore, priority is being given to members.
  • Children who are not registered on our system will not be allowed entry. In this regard kindly contact the administrative office to make sure that any children under the age of 18 years are registered.
  • Sunbeds will be separated as per social distance by the Club, members are to refrain from moving the sunbeds.
  • Children are to be supervised at all times and keep the 2 meters social distance from other members, as the administration we will be very strict in this regard. Should parents not be able to control their children, they will be asked to refrain from using the pool.
  • Unfortunately, there is no way to control how long members will utilize the pool facilities during the day, but we are suggesting to try and keep visiting hours to a maximum of 4 hours in order to give the possibility to other members to use the pool.
  • Anyone who will disrespect the gatekeeper/receptionist/pool attendant will not be given access to the pool area. Any misbehavior will lead to disciplinary action. We kindly ask members to co-operate during these difficult times and to respect the staff whilst carrying out their duties.

Tennis

  • Players remain at least 2m from one another and have no physical contact (such as a post-match handshake) 
  • Tennis courts bookings are ONLY allowed online and by phone (21 233 851). Cash transactions will not be accepted at the club. So please do not just turn up at the club for play without a previous booking.
  • Arrive at the Club readily dressed for play as changing room/showers will not be available.
  • Until further notice, the 8:30pm session on weekends will not be available for bookings
  • Rules might be changed/updated at any time. 

Coaching restrictions: 

  • Coaches will position themselves on the other side of the net and maintain social distancing at all times.
  • Less balls than usual will be used for every lesson.
  • The coach will be the only person to collect the tennis balls by using balls collecting tubes.
  • Racket sharing will not be allowed.
  • Coaching equipment will be limited and wiped down after every session.
  • Paper towels will be available in the toilets for drying hands.
  • Hand sanitizers will available be on site.

 

Squash, Cricket and Billiards have not been given the go ahead by health authorities, hence they will remain closed until further notice. Golfers are kindly asked to visit the RMGC’s website or contact their administrative for further assistance.

 

Memberships:

Whilst some of these measures might not be to everyone’s liking, kindly keep in mind that we are doing this in everyone’s interest. We are hopeful for a tomorrow when we will be able to move to the second phase. We kindly ask for everyone’s co-operation.

These guidelines can only mitigate the risk of Covid 19 infection; they cannot eliminate it. Therefore, the Club cannot be held responsible for any instances that might arise due to circumstances beyond its control. For this reason, we ask members to stay alert and abide with these guidelines, should you notice anyone who exhibits symptoms of the virus to notify the receptionist on duty.
