OPEN CONDITIONS

 

  1. Minimum of 3 matches (group qualifiers with 4 to 6 matches in total)

 

  1. A schedule of play will be drawn up at the start of the tournament. Players must be available for play at any time.

 

  1. Players arriving more than 15minutes late for a scheduled match may be scratched at the discretion of the Referee or Organisers. Entry fees will not be refunded.

 

  1. All matches will be played in accordance with the current Federation  of International Padel (FIP) rules. Players guilty of bad behaviour or any unsportsmanlike action may be penalised, suspended or disqualified by the Referee and his decision will be final.

 

  1. All group matches and quarter-finals will be played as best of 3 set matches (with a championship tie-break to 10 at one set all. The championship tie-break must be won by 2 clear points).

All semi-final matches will be played as full, best of 3 set matches (with a full 3rd set played at 1 set all)

Killer / Die point will be played on the 2nd deuce for all matches.

The MSC Tennis Section will appoint a seeding committee whose decisions on all seedings for the tournament will be final.

 

  1. No complaint in connection with the tournament can be entertained by the Referee unless made in writing within 24 hours of the occurrence and no application for leave to appeal against any decision of the Referee can be entertained by the Council of the MTF unless made in writing and lodged with the Secretary of the Association within 24 hours.

 

  1. The Referee and Organisers reserve the right to alter or modify the program and conditions in any way they deem fit.

In accordance with the GDPR EU 2016/679, this application form is being submitted together with my/our consent, that the personal data contained herein and held by the administrative offices of the club, can be shared with other participants of the said tournament and until such time that the tournament finishes, after which no data will continue to be shared

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT:

Players should be 14 years and over by the first date of the tournament.



The Malta Padel Open Championships are organised by the Tennis Section of the Marsa Sports Club and played on its courts.

It is sanctioned by the Malta Tennis Federation and will be conducted under its Rules and Regulations

ENTRIES/CLOSING DATE

Entry Fees: €25 each player to be submitted with the Entry Form.

Closing Date: 7 days before the start of each category. Categories may close before that if they reach capacity. Partners must be nominated on the Entry Form and must each submit a separate form.

 

DRAWS

The Draws will take place 3 days before start of each category.

 

PRIZES AND PRESENTATION

Prize money will be distributed as follows:

 

Category A

Mens'(each):      €300 Winner     €125 Runner Up

Ladies'(each):    €175  Winner     €75 Runner Up

Mixed(each):     €225 Winner      €100 Runner Up

 

Category B

Mens'(each):     €60 Winner         €30 Runner Up

Ladies'(each):   €50  Winner        €25 Runner Up

Mixed(each):    €60 Winner         €25 Runner Up

 

Prizes/Trophies will be awarded to the winners and runners-up of all categories on 1st May following the final match. The committee reserves the right not to award or to reduce any prize money should any entry be less than 16 pairs for men and mixed categories or 8 pairs for the Ladies category.

Sunday 16th April : Women’s (A & B)
Sat 22nd & Sun 23rd April : Mixed (A & B)
Sat 29th, Sun 30th April : Men’s (A & B)

Monday 1st May : FINAL’s DAY (Men’s A Semi-Finals & Final, Women’s A Final & Mixed A Final)

 

Tournament Capacity is as follows:
Men’s A : 16 pairs
Men’s B : 16 pairs
Mixed A : 16 pairs
Mixed B : 16 pairs
Ladies A : 8 pairs
Ladies B : 8 pairs
